                On the Server-Side we employ various technologies to limit the risk to your computers. We encourage you to protect your PC directly as well.
               Hardware Protection:
                                  Hardware Firewall / Router: Often Broadband Internet Providers will supply a customer with a broadband modem (cable-modem or dsl-modem). These modems are often configured with the ability to share the internet connection to a network of computers. To achieve this, the device is configured as a network-router. A Router allows a single inbound connection to be shared out to one or more internal computers. Due to the nature of the way this device is configured it often performs well as hardware-firewall, or a device that protects internal computers from the external connections coming from the internet.

       Various worm viruses can reside in HMTL, DLL, DOC, EML, and other such files. Most worm viruses have high eradication rates if caught early. Likewise most worm viruses lead to catastrophic data failure if not caught early.         Fault-Tolerance :
                The primary web server experienced a file system error shortly after noon today. During the data restoration operation the downtime was utilized to upgrade the server hardware. Additional data protectoin steps have been implemented with these hardware upgrades. Contingency plans now include RAID3 Mirrored server volume, daily tape backups of critical data, daily full-system-backups to a hard disk volume, weekly backups of critical data via LAN environment, and weekly backups of critical data via WAN to an out of state location.....

        Archive routines and test of offiste archiving :
                A two week test of the backup server in San Jose, California has been successful. I wish to extend my thanks to Barry Thompson of NCROA.ORG for the continued secondary DNS serving he does for Sevencircles.com Hosting Services, and for the recent asistance in transfering all Mail Services to his location. The two week trial proved to be perfectly successful. This test involved the transfer of all mail content to his location, the resumption of mail service using his location, and ultimately the transfer of the current mail content back to the primary location in Fort Worth, Texas and the resumption of service at that location. This process also tested the new routing/configuration of all Mail Exchanger records (MX) of all hosted domains to San Jose and then back to Fort Worth using a single rerouting command.
                The hosting services at Sevencircles.com rely on a variety of fault-tolerance standards in an effort to provide a secure and safe backup and recovery system for the servers and all the domains' data:

               * At the hardware level of the server RAID 3 fault tolerance employed using array
                 (disk miiror technique using a Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks)
               * A daily backup of the critical info and data is made via LAN backup to NAS
               * A weekly archiving of LAN backup to ROM
               * Secondary DNS Server, UNIX platform, located in Austin, TX.
               * Complete backup serving potential for all server applications, FTP, Web, Mail, DNS, located within twenty-five miles in Dallas, TX. The network at the backup location is serviced by Verizon.net which functions as a backup server location that is wholy independent of the SBCglobal.net internet backbone which services the primary server location in Fort Worth, TX. ....
